The Campden Research European Family Office series provides a unique insight into the closed and private community of family offices. The series presents the evolving focus of the family office and includes deep analysis into their changing dynamics.  It covers the objectives of family offices, their strategies and structures, investment portfolios and time horizons, and challenges they face, externally in the market and internally in terms of governance and operations.

In 2010, for the first time, the survey included both single- and multi-family offices.

If 2009 was a year of working out how best to preserve wealth in uncertain times, 2010 was a year of action for many family offices. They implemented new asset allocation strategies, replaced non-performing providers, cut costs, withdrew services and took more control over risk management activities.

At the same time, some offices hardly changed or were still unsure of whether the time was right to invest their cash. A few were not primarily focused on investment or liquidity concerns at all; their challenge iwa dealing with an increasingly disparate family membership.

Campden Research reports are available on a complimentary basis to all qualifying family principals and family office executives who complete a request form.  Campden Research reports are available for purchase to all other individuals.
